CelcomDigi Launches "Spark" — Malaysia's First eSIM-Only, App-Powered Mobile Service

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia – October 28, 2025 — CelcomDigi Berhad has launched Spark, a mobile service built entirely around the eSIM and app-based management, marking a significant step in Malaysia's telecom evolution. The new offering allows users to sign up, activate their line, upgrade or downgrade subscriptions, and even cancel — all within a single app, with no physical SIM card or fixed contract required.

Spark's service model is designed for flexibility and control. Users select a mobile number and plan from the Spark app, then complete e-SIM activation within minutes. Multiple lines — up to five — can be managed under one account, making it well-suited for frequent travellers, multi-device users or secondary lines.

The brand offers three main plans:
• Mini: RM15/month for 3 GB (4G) data.
• Standard: RM25/month for 40 GB (4G/5G) data and 100 voice minutes.
• Plus: RM65/month with 200 GB (4G/5G) data and 100 voice minutes.

Add-ons for extra voice, SMS and data start from just RM1, and users can pause or resume service as needed. Spark also supports on-demand roaming with daily passes starting at RM4 for destinations like Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand.

To mark the launch, CelcomDigi is offering a RM5/month discount for the first 12 months to customers who sign up and apply the promo code SPARK5 by 31 December 2025.

Spark reflects a broader shift for CelcomDigi from traditional SIM-based telco models to digital-first, self-service experiences. It replaces the earlier "Yoodo" brand and signals the company's intent to move away from stores, physical SIMs and long-term contracts towards instant, in-app experiences.

While the service brings notable freedom, some limitations persist: number port-in is not yet supported and smartwatch integration is still pending.
