Deutsche Telekom Q3 2025: Fiber Growth, AI Push and Raised Full-Year Guidance
European telecom major Deutsche Telekom has released a robust Q3 2025 financial update, featuring record fibre growth in Germany, continued momentum in the U.S., and renewed emphasis on industrial‑AI infrastructure. The company has also revised up its full‑year forecasts, signalling confidence in its multi‑pronged growth strategy.
On the fixed broadband front, Deutsche Telekom added 155,000 new FTTH (fiber-to-the-home) customers — its strongest pure-fibre quarter yet. That brings the total number of German households reachable via its fibre network to 11.8 million. The surge underscores growing demand for high-capacity access and marks a significant milestone in the operator's infrastructure investment drive.
Financially, net revenue rose 3.3% (organic), while service revenues increased 3.6%. Adjusted EBITDA (after leases) climbed to €11.1 billion, up 2.9% on an organic basis. Despite currency headwinds and market pressures, these figures reflect firm underlying performance.
A major theme this quarter is Deutsche Telekom's strategic pivot to AI. The company confirmed plans to build a Europe‑first "industrial AI cloud," in partnership with Nvidia and Brookfield, based in Munich. The initiative aims to embed AI across operations — from customer service to network management — and positions AI as a core pillar of future growth. CEO Tim Höttges said there is "no area, no process that is not changed by AI."
Across the Atlantic, the U.S. segment continued to deliver strong performance. Service revenues grew by roughly 9%, and adjusted EBITDA rose about 5.5%, reinforcing the role of the U.S. business as a major growth engine for the group.
In light of these positive results, Deutsche Telekom raised its full‑year 2025 guidance: adjusted EBITDA AL is now projected at approximately €45.3 billion, and free cash flow after leases (FCF AL) is expected to reach about €20.1 billion. The company also announced a planned dividend increase — reflecting confidence in its cash-generating strength.
Despite ongoing currency headwinds and competitive pressures, Deutsche Telekom's Q3 performance underscores its resilience and transformed operational focus. The combined strategy of accelerated fibre rollout, U.S. growth, and strategic AI investments may well shape the future trajectory of one of Europe's telecom giants.
