Deutsche Telekom and NVIDIA Launch 5G+ Cloud Gaming in Germany
Deutsche Telekom is stepping up its mobile gaming offerings by partnering with NVIDIA to roll out 5G+ Gaming powered by GeForce NOW, launching in Germany in autumn 2025. This service promises cloud gaming with especially stable response times for smartphones, using Telekom's standalone 5G network.
Key to the offering are technologies aimed at minimizing lag: network slicing (to isolate gaming traffic) and L4S (Low Latency, Low Loss, Scalable Throughput), which together help ensure smooth gameplay even under variable network load.
The platform will support over 2,300 game titles from popular digital stores including Steam, Epic Games, Xbox Game Pass, EA, Ubisoft Connect, and more. Free-to-play favourites like Fortnite, Genshin Impact, Overwatch 2, and Marvel Rivals are also included.
To access 5G+ Gaming, users will need a current MagentaMobil plan and a compatible device. At launch, supported devices include the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and the new S25 series. More devices are expected to join later. Booking is via the MeinMagenta app or the Telekom website.
Deutsche Telekom claims its 5G+ network covers over 98% of Germany's population, making this service widely reachable.
Wolfgang Metze, Head of Consumer Business at Telekom Deutschland, said every millisecond counts for gaming, and this collaboration aims to bring premium, seamless gameplay to users on the go. Meanwhile, NVIDIA's Phil Eisler emphasized that GeForce NOW's strength lies in delivering high-fidelity visuals and responsive performance, now boosted by Telekom's network enhancements.
In short, with 5G+ Gaming, Deutsche Telekom is betting that combining cutting-edge network tech with cloud game streaming will help it differentiate in the market—and meet growing demand from mobile gamers in Germany.
